A Sand Pictures is a Malaysia-based creative studio founded on the belief that the vastness of the world can be glimpsed through its smallest, most human details.
Formed by writers and filmmakers shaped by the warmth of the equator, we make documentaries, television, film and branded stories. We work with our feet on the ground and our gaze on the soul of things—rooted in our homeland, open to the world.

Taiwan-based sound mixer and designer Chen Guanting has contributed to acclaimed Chinese-language films across Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia. He won Best Sound at the 60th Golden Horse Awards for Snow in Midsummer.

Seventeen years of finding the human story.
Producer, director and writer Yewmiin began with documentaries that captured the beauty and sorrow of Malaysia. She founded A Sand Pictures in 2021 to create meaningful work across film, television, advertising and the written word.
